Tag: 20 questions

Something a bit different today, I thought I would do a tag so you could find out a little more about me.

1. Thing you cant leave the house without- Probably my phone

2. Favorite brand of makeup- I'd have to say MAC, even though it is a bit hard to access for me.

3. Favorite flowers- Lilies

4. Favorite clothing store- Probably topshop, they switch up their stuff frequently and fit nicely with a lot of styles, or h&m, they always seem to have things I like and their really cheap.

5. Favorite perfume- I don't really own a lot of perfumes, but I recently got a prada sample of d'iris eau de toilette that I love.

6. Heels of flats- Flats definitely  I live in my converse, they are my babies, I would like to branch into heels though.

7. Do you make good grades- I recently finished my GCSE's and came out with decent results, I was pretty proud.

8. Favorite colors- Used to be green and purple, but I like a bit of everything, I think I love pink, which was a surprise when I found out, so a mixture really, apart from yellow, euk hehe.

9. Do you drink energy drinks- I used to, not so much now, I mainly drink water now, I love drinking water, it's so good for you, but that's for another post.

10. Do you drink juice- I used to drink orange and apple, and I still love them, but they have so much sugar in them, so I tend to stay away from them.

11. Do you like swimming- I love swimming, I especially love going with my little sister, I don't do it much though, and also I know the water is terrible for your hair, I'm a big hair fanatic if you hadn't guessed.

12. Do you eat fries with a fork- Depends where I am, if it's mcdonalds, or any other fast food place really, I eat with my hands, if it's at home with normal oven chips, it's a fork.

13. Whats your favorite moisturizer- of what I've tried, without a doubt the benefit total moisture facial cream/

14. Do you want to get married later on in life- yeah, I'm very girly in that sense, I know what kind of wedding and wedding dress I want etc.

15. Do you get mad easily- if you'd have asked me the same question 2 years ago I would have said no, but I've been getting angry easily recently, which is bad, I think I need to take more baths :L

16. Are you into ghost hunting- no. I cannot stand anything ghosty or demony or anything of that nature, I can't watch ghost films either, which is bad, because I want to so badly.

17. Any phobias- The dark.

18. Do you bite your nails- Not since I got braces, and when they were removed I still didn't.

19. Have you ever had a near death experience- no thankfully

20. Do you drink coffee- I try not to drink it too much but I do like it :)

Review: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish- Soft and Gentle

Today, obviously a post about the MAC MSF in soft and gentle, a very famous product in the beauty blogging world.

But this review is going to be different to a lot of reviews you have seen on this product. In all honestly, I was quite dissapointed with this product, everyone raves about how beautiful it is on the skin and the only bad thing I've ever heard about it is that you should go light handed and apply it carefully otherwise it can look quite intense.

I decided to buy it because I felt that there was something missing from my makeup routine, that being, a highlighter  and probably quite a stupid move, but started at the top and went for one of the most expensive highlighters on my list, but I did my research and everyone led me to believe that I wouldn't regret my purchase.

But, I seem to have this bad luck with products that I research before I buy, I will do so much research on a product before I buy it, you know, to make sure it's worth buying, and more times than you would think, I get dissapointed, L'Oreal voluminous or Rimmel wake me up foundation, just to name a couple, and as you know, wake me up is very famous and loved by so many, but, alas, just didn't work for me.

So I bought it and rushed to try it out when it arrived, but I was sadly dissapointed when I put it on, nothing happened, I applied it more heavily with a buffing brush, still, not really much happening. It's only really in certain lights that I can see there is something there and it's nothing special, just little bits of glitter on the cheek bones.

The only place I really like to apply it is the inner corner sometimes and it brightens the eyes up nicely, but on the face it just doesn't work.

( a heavier swatch and lighter swatch)

Now as you can see, when swatched, it is a very pretty, but glittery product and you would think it looks nice on the skin too, but for me it just doesn't cut it as a highlighter.
Don't let this post completely discourage you from buying this product, it works for so many people and just didn't happen to work for me.

Next I think I'm going to go for something a little cheaper, maybe the mary lou-manizer, another product that is loved by many, so fingers crossed.

See you next week

Hair care routine

Hi everyone

So during my childhood, like most people my hair was fairly tame and in decent condition.
But as I got older and started playing around with products and heat styling it obviously took its toll on my hair and it started to become frizzy and dry.

My hair was a dirty/mousy blonde colour and I now dye it with henna, so it's a gingery brown sort of colour. So anyway, I have never used chemicals on it and I try not to use too much heat on it, i mainly use it on my fringe and any pesky face framing bits.

I am very inconsistent with my hair, once I finish a conditioner or deep conditioner I start looking for a new one.
But at the moment I am using all Charles Worthington, which is strange for me because I rarely ever use corresponding shampoo and conditioner.

At the moment I am using the moisture seal shampoo and conditioner, and they are fairly decent, I'm still undecided as to whether i would repurchase them again, they put a fair bit of moisture back into my hair and make it feel nice.
The conditioner is one of the better ones that I've tried, I may repurchase it somewhere down the line.

I don't wash my hair in the conventional way, I always wash it in the evening too.
So when I shampoo, I wash the roots and then let the shampoo briefly get to the lengths and ends when i rinse it out.
I then use maybe an egg sized amount of conditioner on my ends and tie it on top on my head.
I then wash my body and do any other things that need doing and then get out without washing it out still.
I moisturize my body and get dressed and then I rinse the conditioner out over the shower with the water on the coldest setting.
I then throw it up into a jersey t-shirt because a t-shirt is much less harsh on the hair than a towel.

The next morning I brush it out with my tangle teezer-which I personally don't see why there was so much hype around it, it just seems like a normal brush to me, but I probably will buy a new one when mine becomes a bit worse for wear-and sometimes will spray in some of the healthy sexy hair soy tri-wheat leave in conditioner, which is okay, I probably won't be repurchasing it though.

For a deep treatment I am using the Charles Worthington strength and repair masque, which is ok, once it's finished I'm probably going to move on to something different again.

It has a very thick consistency and has almost glittery flexes in, which I can only assume is to give shine.

The treatment I used before this was the infamous macadamia deep repair masque, which was very lovely, gives instant results and I will most definitely be repurchasing it...once I get a job..
(stay tuned for a review on that)

Also I've been using my tresemme liquid gold hair oil recently too, I didn't use it much when I first bought it, but I've noticed it working better with my recently updated routine.

That's all for now, see you next week

Review: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner

A quick review today, of, obviously the Rimmel Scandal eyes waterproof kohl liner.

I bought this because I have been looking for a liner for my tight line and waterline and I heard a fair bit of hype around this product, so one day whist in boots i picked it up.

Quite simply the best liner I've used, it is most definitely waterproof, once on it will stay put. It is also very pigmented and creamy, so one swipe along the waterline and you are done. It could also be blended out on the lash line for a smokey look. The colour comes out very opaque and very black.

I give it a 5/5 and would most definitely recommend it to everyone and anyone, I think I'm going to buy more of the colours too. See you next week
